Travel
Most people will travel to Sitges by flying to Barcelona Airport,  which has good links with
UK airports and a wide range of airports in Europe and beyond. It's about 20 miles
(32km) from the apartment and the journey takes about half an hour by car, depending
on which route you choose.
FLYING
BARCELONA AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Train
There's a bridge to the Airport Station from inside Terminal 2 B. Take the escalators
opposite check-in desks 90 to 95. Trains run every half hour from early morning to late
evening. You change at the first stop, El Prat de Llobregat. The whole journey should
take between 50 minutes and 1 hour and costs €3.00 (December 2010).
The exit at
Sitges is via a subway but lift access is now available.

Bus
MonBus runs a service to Sitges from Terminal 1 only, to the left of the exit from Arrivals
It takes about forty minutes, and sets down a short walk from the apartment.

Car
From T1 take C31 and then join C32. From T2 use C32. The route goes through the
Garraf tunnels, will take about half an hour and cost you a toll of €
6.65. (May 2015).
From either terminal use the C31 all the way for a toll free route. It takes longer, hugs
the coastal cliffs in spectacular fashion, and is probably not for the faint hearted!
Taxi
There is a constant stream of taxis past the terminal buildings. The charge will probably
be from
about €60 to €75. Ask StaySitges about current rates and where you should be
dropped off when you book
and be sure to agree the price before you set off..
Private hire transfer
StaySitges can arrange for you to be met at the airport. Discuss this, and the current
price, when you book. This is a good option for first time visitors to Sitges, or if the other
alternatives might present practical difficulties for your party.
Car Rental
In Terminal 1 rental companies have offices on either side of the exit from Arrivals.
Those in Terminal 2 are in T2B, or you may have to go directly to the rental parking
area across the road . It's much cheaper to  book on line in advance, but do make sure
that you can specify at which terminal you want to pick up your car.

Sitges has excellent links not only with the Spanish road system but with the European
major road network, so driving there can be an option; or you could make it part of a
touring holiday. For seafarers, Sitges'  marina at Port Aiguadolc has facilities for vessels
up to 26m. long, 6m. wide and 2.8m. draught. There are also marinas at nearby Port
Ginnesta and Port de Garraf.
OTHER OPTIONS
The Abbey of
Montserrat is worth a
visit for the mountain
scenery alone!
There are regular tours
from Sitges:
or go independently
by car or by train.
Arrive in spectacular
style by making the
final stage of the trip by
cable car (Aire) or rack
railway ( Cremallera)

A word of warning!
You may be offered Girona or Reus airports as alternatives to Barcelona.
Girona airport is about 83 miles (134km) to the north of Sitges. Transfer takes about an
hour and half by car, and much longer by public transport.
Reus is some 40 miles (65km) to the south and the journey takes about 50 minutes by
car, so this can be a reasonable option, especially if you plan on picking up a hire car at
your arrival airport anyway.
Terminal Numbering and Shuttle Bus
Barcelona's new terminal building opened in 2009 and was designated Terminal 1 (T1),
the three original terminal buildings becoming Terminal 2 (T2).
The road journey between the two is over 2 miles (about 4km).
The free, green, shuttle buses leave T1 from close to the escalator exit from Arrivals.
At T2 they go from near the bridge to the train station, outside the newer part of T2B.
Take the exit opposite check-in desks numbered  82 to 85.
